All delivery prices are calculated in your basket. To get a clear view of the charge, add all the products you want to order to your basket, select the desired delivery option and delivery zone. You will not have to add your payment details to do this.
After your order has been placed
Once your order is placed you will receive an immediate order confirmation via email. Shortly after this, your order will be processed, and you will receive a second email to let you know of your delivery date. If the order is coming via a parcel we can also provide you with a tracking number for you to easily view updates at any time of day.
Lots of products have free delivery – this will show as £0.00 in the shopping basket for you. You may find that the shopping cart shows a delivery charge when a product with free shipping is in the basket. This will be due to the second item coming from a separate warehouse and having a delivery charge applied to that product. Delivery will still be free for those other products.
If a delivery charge is applied to this product it will be shown in the shopping basket as a separate price, so this is clearly visible, with NO HIDDEN CHARGES. This charge is for delivery to mainland UK (excluding the Scottish Highlands & the Islands where additional shipping charges will apply). Any order received after midday on a Friday and any order received over a weekend will be processed on a Monday (excluding bank holidays). Orders placed on a bank holiday will be processed the next business day. All our estimated delivery times are based on a 5-day working week.
Please note that the office is closed at weekends and on bank holidays. As this is the case phone systems are not operated at these times. If you do need to contact us urgently you can do so by e-mail at email@example.com and we will try to respond as fast as possible.
Roof traders utilises national carriers and national pallet distribution networks as well as manufacturers own transport.
If you want delivery to anywhere other than kerbside with unrestricted access, let us know. We reserve the right to refuse to make a delivery if you have not told us this information. Depending on the type of product ordered and the circumstances, it may be that an extra charge will be levied. if you feel you have some form of restricted access please leave us a message in the box or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss the delivery.
We consider restricted access to be the following:
- If our drivers encounter double yellow lines
- A red route
- Narrow lanes
- Steep hills
- Low bridges
- Width restricted roads.
Depending on your order some of the goods may come to you from separate depots resulting in your order consisting of more than one part. Some orders may be split into more than one delivery, so you are not kept waiting for those items immediately available - You will be notified each time a part of your order has been dispatched.
Our delivery partners will ensure goods reach you in good time and good condition. Our logistics team will allocate a space for your order and we will contact you on the day of despatch with details. Normal delivery times are between 7:30am and 6pm, but you can ring the carrier direct for an indication of delivery time.
Large orders are sent on a pallet and are normally delivered on a rigid vehicle with tail lift. This usually means your order will be dropped on your driveway or kerbside.
Accepting Your Delivery

The Legal Bit
Unfortunately, accidents do happen. If the goods are damaged when they reach you, sign the delivery note as damaged and contact us as soon as possible.
If, after signing for your order, you find there is damage, you have 14 days from delivery to tell us. After these 14 days, no exchange can be made. If you left instructions for the order to be left in your absence, tell us of any damages within 24 hours of delivery. Photographs will help us ensure a speedy change of product. Please send them to firstname.lastname@example.org with information about your order and the damage. We'll follow up as soon as possible.
Once the order has been delivered to your home/site, the risk of any damage or loss passes to you. You will only own the products once they have been successfully delivered and when we have received cleared payment in full. After this point, we will no longer be liable for their loss or condition.
At Rooftraders.co.uk we believe that hiding the transport costs in the prices of the products does not benefit the customer. Our carriage charges reflect the size and weight of your order and will always be shown separately to the cost of the products.
